ESCUELA FUTURO VERDE – a high quality school for an entire rural area: the Southern Peninsula Nicoya in Costa Rica. The region with its natural beauty and remoteness is a little paradise and a wonderful place to raise children.
In June 2010, the school will move to Cóbano, the center of the region, and will offer several levels: Kinder and Prep school (4-5 year olds, and 5-6 year old children, the two years before primary school starts), Primary School (in Costa Rica: Cycle I with grades 1-3 and Cycle II with grades 4-6), and in 2011 will begin to offer Colegio (Cycle III, grades 7-9) with succesive growth/year by year 2015 into higher grades (Cycle IV, grades 10-12).
The school facilities include a children & youth center for afternoon programs, classroom space for additional courses offered to the public primary schools in the afternoon, and offices for the central administration to facilitate the interaction with public schools. Additionally, the Association Futuro Verde offers housing to provide volunteers with a place to stay.
