About Wild Sun

Wild Sun Rescue Center is a non-profit organization located in Cabuya, Costa Rica. We border the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, home to hundreds of unique animal and plant species. Wild Sun is not only dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of our local wildlife but also to finding solutions to the problems they are facing. Through reforestation projects and educational programs we hope to make a difference in our local environment by preserving biodiversity. Join us! Either by volunteering or by donating to one of our projects. It will take all of us to reverse the damage that has occurred to our ecosystems and one way to make a difference is by supporting projects like ours. Be the change!

About CREMA

The Rescue Center for Endangered Marine Species (CREMA) is a Costa Rican non-profit NGO founded in 2012. We are a marine conservation and research organization working to protect ocean resources and promote sustainable fisheries policies in Costa Rica and Central America.Costa Rica has an image as a conservationist country. Indeed there are many positive laws and regulations on paper in Costa Rica. However, marine conservation is very far behind land conservation here, and furthermore, many of the positive laws and regulations that do exist go unenforced.

As a result, we direct our efforts in the following categories:

  • Direct in the field conservation projects
  • Public awareness and education
  • International marine biodiversity conservation policy.

About Romelia

The Romelia RMVS, located in Montezuma on the Nicoya Peninsula, was created on November 24th, 1998 with the objective of contributing to the conservation of the Tempisque Conservation Area (ACT, from its acronym in Spanish). The refuge stemmed from an initiative of Albert Ingalls and Gitza Gatti, who followed a dream of conservation for land that was their home and the birthright of their children. The land, now the Romelia Mixed Wildlife Refuge (RMVS-Romelia), contributes to the ACT as part of the peninsular biological corridor (Cabo Blanco Absolute Reserve, Curu Mixed Wildlife Reserve, Karen Morgensen Reserve, Nicholas Wessberg Reserve and the Romelia Mixed Wildlife Refuge). It is adjacent to the Nicholas Wessberg Absolute Reserve, one of the first and most valuable protected wild areas in the country.

About ASVO

We are active conservationists of Protected Areas, beaches and communities throughout Costa Rica, promoting environmental volunteerism with a social conscience. We function as a bridge between civil society and natural areas with the aim that more and more people get involved and act responsibly and as volunteers in this conservation movement in support of our natural and cultural heritage. Our organization is dedicated to action in support of conservation and development of Protected Areas; for our benefit and for that of future generations. We have a cooperation agreement with the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC), allowing us to support the country through our volunteer program in about 20 different areas of the country. With about 2,300 volunteers in Costa Rica and in different parts of the world every year it is possible to make our efforts towards conservation a reality.
