Escuela Futuro Verde is seeking educational professionals to fill forthcoming vacancies for the the 2011 school year (February - December). Director
Responsibilities
- Oversee all school operations at Escuela Futuro Verde
- Manage staff of at least three teachers and kitchen staff
- Coordinate volunteer program, including the recruitment, training, and effective use of volunteers
- Support dean in curriculum development and all other matters of pedagogy
- Manage the school budget, including payroll, supplies acquisition, and all other matters pertaining to the school’s finances
- Oversee ongoing accreditation process, taking responsibility for meeting ministry requirements and submitting necessary forms
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis about individual student needs and school issues at large
- Coordinate and lead staff and parent-teacher meetings
Qualifications
- BA or advanced degree in education (mandatory)
- Advanced degree in school administration (highly preferred)
- Minimum 2 years experience as director or equivalent position at established educational institution
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Interest in and/or experience practicing Constructivist pedagogy
- Interest in institution-building and non-profit management
Primary School Teacher (English)
Responsibilities
- Teaching a class of 5-12 first to sixth grade students
- Daily lesson planning in coordination with approved curriculum
- 30 hours/week minimum at school site
- Regular interaction with parents to ensure that all student needs are met
Qualifications
- BA or advanced degree in education (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching primary grades at established educational institution
- Ministry certification or equivalent credentials
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience in bilingual education, differentiation, and backwards design planning
- Interest in and/or experience practicing constructivist pedagogy
- Love of children and the outdoors
Primary School Teacher (Spanish and Social Studies)
Responsibilities
- Teaching a class of 5-12 first to sixth grade students
- Daily lesson planning in coordination with approved curriculum
- 30 hours/week minimum at school site
- Regular interaction with parents to ensure that all student needs are met

- BA or advanced degree in education (mandatory)

- Teaching a class of 5-10 kindergarten students
- Daily lesson planning in coordination with approved curriculum
- 25 hours/week minimum at school site
- Regular interaction with parents to ensure that all student needs are met
- Potential for paid, creative after-school program opportunities
Qualifications
- BA or advanced degree in education (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching kindergarten at established educational institution
- Ministry certification or equivalent credentials
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience in bilingual education, differentiation, and backwards design planning
- Interest in and/or experience practicing constructivist pedagogy
